SAICSIT 2023

SAICSIT is proud to support Safe Haven in 2023. Safe Haven is the first and only residential care facility for the elderly and indigent community members in Promosa in Potchefstroom. Their mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for those in need. Located in Promosa, they extend their services to individuals from neighboring communities as well. Their doors are open to anyone seeking compassionate care and support during their golden years.

In these communities, many elderly and ill individuals spend their days alone, as their loved ones are away at work or school. Some find themselves completely isolated without anyone to care for them. Tragically, this isolation often leads to avoidable injuries and, in some cases, even death. Recognizing this critical need for support, Sr. Petersen, a dedicated and experienced nurse, made the compassionate decision to establish a non-profit organization (NPO).

Safe Haven believes in the power of community and are grateful for the support they have received so far. With the collective efforts of their compassionate team, dedicated volunteers, and generous donors, Safe Haven is making a positive impact on the lives of elderly and indigent individuals.

Join us in our mission to provide a safe haven and a brighter future for those who need it most. Together, we can create a nurturing environment that promotes dignity, compassion, and well-being for all.

Meet Sr. Nola Petersen, a remarkable nurse hailing from Promosa, a township in Potchefstroom. Throughout her career, she has witnessed the slow deterioration of the sick and elderly who lack access to round-the-clock primary healthcare. Determined to make a difference, Sr. Petersen took action to address this pressing issue in Promosa and surrounding townships. Driven by her deep empathy and a desire to improve the lives of the elderly, sick, and impoverished, Sr. Petersen embarked on a mission to create an organization that could cater to the needs of the community. Her vision was to offer comprehensive care, ensuring the well-being and safety of those who are most vulnerable.

Through her non-profit organization, Sr. Petersen has brought together a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers who share her passion for making a positive impact. Together, they work tirelessly to provide 24-hour primary healthcare services and support to the elderly and sick in Promosa and neighboring townships.
